Phönix D.II/D.IIa in 1/48 scale by Special Hobby depicts an improved version of the Austro-Hungarian biplane fighter aircraft developed by Phönix Flugzeugwerke and deployed in 1918 on the Italian front. The Phönix D.II and D.IIa aircraft served primarily with the K.u.K. Luftfahrtruppen, where they struggled to match their powerful Italian and French opponents.

The main differences between the versions:

• D.II - the basic variant with a 200 hp Hieronymus engine, which offered good manoeuvrability but was not fast enough against modern enemy machines.
