Phönix D.I.K.u.K. Kriegsmarine in 1/48 scale by Special Hobby is an Austro-Hungarian WWI fighter biplane developed for the Imperial and Royal Navy (K.u.K. Kriegsmarine). The Phönix D.I K.u.K. Kriegsmarine in 1/48 scale by Special Hobby depicts the first indigenous fighter aircraft developed for the Austro-Hungarian Air Force. It was originally intended for ground forces, but some of the machines were assigned to naval aviation for harbour protection, escorting reconnaissance aircraft and fighting against Italian and British aircraft over the Adriatic Sea.
The aircraft was of sturdy construction and had more powerful armament than its predecessors, but was not as agile as the more modern Allied machines. Nevertheless, it was used until the end of the war, when it was gradually replaced by newer types.
