Fieseler Fi 103 / V-1 'Hi-Tech' in 1/32 scale by Special Hobby captures the iconic German V-1 unmanned missile, which was the first operationally deployed guided missile in history. Also known as the 'Vergeltungswaffe 1' (weapon of retaliation 1), this aerial projectile was developed by Fieseler and mass producedas part of the German strategy of long-range bombing of Allied cities.
The V-1 was powered by an Argus As 014 pulse engine, which allowed it to fly at speeds of around 640 km/h (640 mph) over distances of up to 250 km (250 mi). Over 9,500 of these missiles were fired between June 1944 and March 1945, mainly at London and Antwerp. The Allies deployed fast fighters, anti-aircraft artillery and balloon dams against them, which led to a gradual reduction in their effectiveness.
The model in the HI-TECH edition features precision workmanship on the fuselage, pulse engine and other details, including the launch pad. An ideal choice for modelers interested in German WWII rocket and long-range weapon systems.
Package does not include paint or glue needed for assembly.
