Plastikový model letadla 1/32 Fi 103A-1/Re 4 Reichenberg
Fi 103A-1/Re 4 Reichenberg in 1/32 scale by Special Hobby is a piloted version of the German V-1 missile, which was developed as a suicide weapon during WWII. Inspired by the Japanese kamikazes, this design was never deployed in combat. The model offers detailed treatment of the cockpit, fuselage and Argus pulse engine. The package does not include the paint or glue needed for assembly.
Fi 103A-1/Re 4 Reichenberg in 1/32 scale by Special Hobby depicts an experimental German manned aircraft based on the V-1 missile. Developed in 1944, Project Reichenberg was designed to allow pilots to accurately guide these flying bombs onto targets as part of the Third Reich's desperate efforts to turn the tide of the war. The program was inspired by the Japanese Okha suicide planes, but unlike them, the pilot was theoretically supposed to be able to abandon the aircraft before impact, which was extremely unlikely.
The Re 4 version was a more advanced variant with a cockpit integrated into the fuselage and basic controls. Pilot training was ongoing, but the program was eventually discontinued due to inefficiencies and concerns about pilot morale. None of these aircraft were ever used operationally, and most were destroyed or captured by the Allies.
The 1/32 scale model features precise details of the cockpit, Argus As 014 pulse engine and aerodynamic fuselage. A great choice for modelers interested in experimental and lesser known German WWII projects.
Package does not include paint or glue needed for assembly.
