Special Hobby's 7,5 cm PaK 40 'German Anti-tank Gun' in 1/72 scale captures one of the most effective anti-tank guns of WWII. Developed in the early 1940s in response to the growing armoured threat of Soviet T-34 and KV-1 tanks, the PaK 40 became the main weapon of German anti-tank units from 1942 onwards.
The PaK 40 gun had an excellent ratio of firepower to mobility. With a muzzle velocity of over 900 m/s and the ability to penetrate up to 150 mm of armor at a range of 500 meters, it was effective against most Allied tanks. Despite its weight of over 1.4 tons, it remained relatively mobile and was widely deployed on both the Eastern and Western fronts. It was later adapted as the main armament of tank fighters such as the Marder II and III.
The 1/72 scale model features detailed treatment of the gun carriage, wheeled undercarriage and sighting elements, thus faithfully matching the historical model. An ideal choice for modelers focusing on German WWII artillery.
The package does not include the paint or adhesives needed for assembly.
