The Nakajima Ki-43 Hayabusa, known to the Allies as the Oscar, was one of the most widely used Japanese fighter aircraft of World War II. The aircraft was distinguished by its excellent maneuverability, light weight, and long range, making it an effective adversary in combat over China, Burma, Malaya, and the Pacific.
The Ki-43-II Kô version brought structural reinforcements, a more powerful Nakajima Ha-115 engine, partial armour and improved armament. Although the aircraft was losing its advantage over newer Allied fighters, it remained an important part of the Japanese Air Force until the end of the war. It was also deployed in kamikaze suicide missions and some survived the war in the service of other nations.
The Special Hobby 1/72 Ki-43-II Kô Hayabusa / Oscar model features detailed fuselage, wings and cockpit, realistic landing gear and armament. The kit includes decals for several Japanese Army machines, allowing you to recreate aircraft from different fronts and periods of the war.
The model is suitable for those interested in Imperial Japanese aviation and the Pacific battlefield.
The package does not include the paint or glue needed for assembly.
