1/72 Gloster Meteor Mk.4
Special Hobby's 1/72nd scale model of the Gloster Meteor Mk.4 is a British jet fighter from the post-war period, building on the success of previous versions during WWII. The kit includes detailed plastic parts, cockpit, landing gear and decals for British and Allied machines. The package does not include the paint or glue needed for assembly.
The Gloster Meteor Mk.4 was an upgraded version of the first British mass-produced jet fighter to enter service during World War II. The Mk.4 version appeared in 1947 and brought more powerful Rolls-Royce Derwent 5 engines, a strengthened design and improved flight characteristics. The aircraft achieved higher speeds and was deployed by the Royal Air Force and a number of foreign users.
The Meteor Mk.4 became the basis for training a new generation of jet pilots and took part in several Cold War conflict zones. Its rugged design and reliability meant that it was used not only as a fighter aircraft but also in reconnaissance and training roles.
The Special Hobby 1/72 Gloster Meteor Mk.4 kit offers finely crafted details, a realistic cockpit, fuselage surface texture and a choice of several camouflage versions. Decals for RAF and foreign aircraft are included.
