1/72 Fouga CM-175 Zéphyr
Special Hobby's 1/72 scale model of the Fouga CM-175 Zéphyr is a naval training version of the famous French Fouga Magister, designed for training pilots of the French Naval Air Force. The kit includes detailed plastic parts, a two-person cockpit and decals for the Aéronavale machines. The package does not include the paint or glue needed for assembly.
The Fouga CM-175 Zéphyr was derived from the popular Fouga Magister jet trainer, and was specially modified for the French Navy. The aircraft was equipped with a reinforced landing gear, landing hook and modifications for operation from aircraft carriers. Between 1959 and 1994, it served as a deck trainer for the Aéronavale, training pilots for operation on Clemenceau-class ships.
The Zéphyr retained the excellent flight characteristics of the original Magistera and, thanks to its unpretentiousness and reliability, became an important part of the French Naval Aviation training system. It was also used in demonstrations and flying days, including ceremonial flyovers.
The Special Hobby 1/72 Fouga CM-175 Zéphyr brings a detailed kit with realistic renditions of the fuselage, wings, cockpit and naval features such as the landing hook. Included are decals for Aéronavale machines, including representative machines with typical white or grey paintwork and French insignia.
