Long description:
The Fairey Barracuda Mk.II was a British torpedo and dive bomber used by the Royal Navy during World War II. The design was a top-plane with large Youngman flaps, retractable arcing landing gear and advanced ASV IIN radar. Although it was primarily designed for torpedo attacks, most combat missions were conducted as dive bombing.
Barracudas were involved in the landings in Italy, participated in attacks on the German battleship Tirpitz, and conducted naval operations in Norwegian waters. The aircraft operated from both carriers and land bases, where they undertook anti-submarine patrols and attacked enemy shipping.
This 1/72 scale kit includes three plastic parts frames, a clear parts frame and wing hangers. It can be assembled in two variations of the markings of the aircraft deployed in the Atlantic, one of which is decorated with nose art. Armament can be chosen between a suspended torpedo or a 1600 lb bomb.
