1/48 Harrier GR.9
The 1/48th scale Harrier GR.9 from Hobby 2000 is a modernized version of the British Vertical Take-Off and Landing (VTOL) attack aircraft used by the Royal Air Force (RAF) until 2010. This multi-role aircraft was deployed in operations in the Balkans, Iraq and Afghanistan. The kit includes detailed plastic parts, a realistic cockpit, suspended armament and decals for various British units. The package does not include the paint or glue needed for assembly.
The Harrier GR.9 was an advanced version of the Harrier GR.7, which entered service in 2006. This aircraft was upgraded with upgraded avionics, navigation systems and the ability to use the latest types of precision-guided munitions. Like its predecessors, the GR.9 retained its unique vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) capability, allowing it to operate from short runways, aircraft carriers and temporary bases.
The Harrier GR.9 was deployed in the conflicts in the Balkans, Iraq and Afghanistan, where it conducted close air support (CAS), reconnaissance and attacks on enemy targets. The aircraft was powered by a Rolls-Royce Pegasus engine, which provided thrust direction and excellent manoeuvrability. Armament included Paveway laser-guided bombs, Brimstone cruise missiles and CRV7 anti-ship missiles.
The Hobby 2000 1/48 Harrier GR.9 kit features precision machined plastic parts, a detailed cockpit with instrument panel, the ability to configure suspended armament and authentic decals for several RAF versions.
The high level of detail and historical accuracy make this model ideal for modellers interested in modern British fighter aircraft and VTOL aircraft.
The package does not include the paint or glue needed for assembly.
