1/48 Fi 103/FZG-76 V1
Special Hobby's 1/48th scale model of the Fi 103 / FZG-76 V1 represents the German V-1 missile, known as the "miracle weapon" of Nazi Germany. This weapon was deployed in the final stages of World War II against targets in Britain and Belgium. The kit features detailed plastic parts and realistic finishes. The package does not include the paint or glue needed for assembly.
The Fi 103 (FZG-76), better known as the V-1, was the first mass-produced cruise missile in history, developed by Nazi Germany as part of the so-called V-1. "Weapons of Retribution"(Vergeltungswaffen). This unmanned, pulse-powered missile was launched from ground ramps and aircraft and was primarily used to terrorize the civilian population in Britain, especially during the 1944 campaign against London.
The V-1 missiles were technologically pioneering, if relatively inaccurate. Nevertheless, they caused considerable damage and had a strong psychological impact. After the war, the design principle became the basis for the development of many postwar missile and unmanned systems.
The Special Hobby 1/48 Fi 103 / FZG-76 V1 model offers a faithful representation of the surface, pulse engine and aerodynamic body of the missile. In 1/48 scale, it can ideally be used as a stand-alone model or to complement dioramas, for example with a launch pad or in combination with Heinkel He 111 aircraft as a carrier.
The model will delight fans of rocketry and secret weapons of the Third Reich.
The package does not include the paint or glue needed for assembly.
