1/48 Airspeed Oxford Mk.I ‘Gunner Trainer’
Special Hobby's 1/48th scale model of the Airspeed Oxford Mk.I 'Gunner Trainer' is a British trainer aircraft designed to train gunners, navigators and pilots during WWII. The kit includes detailed plastic parts including a ball gun turret and decals for the RAF machines. Package does not include paint or glue needed for assembly.
The Airspeed Oxford Mk.I was a twin-engined trainer aircraft developed in the 1930s for the British RAF. During World War II, it became the basic type for training crews of multi-crew bombers - including pilots, navigators, bombardiers and gunners. The Mk.I version was particularly distinctive in that it was fitted with a ball turret for rear firing practice.
Oxford aircraft were deployed in training units throughout Britain and the Commonwealth and played a key role in the training of thousands of aircrews. Their simple but reliable design allowed for intensive deployment even in challenging conditions.
The Special Hobby 1/48 Airspeed Oxford Mk.I 'Gunner Trainer' brings a faithful representation of the fuselage, engines, cockpit and ball turret. The kit offers realistic interiors and other details that make it an attractive model of the machines used in RAF training. Included are decals for British machines, often in combined camouflage and training markings.
The model is ideal for fans of the British Air Force, training equipment and multi-crew RAF.
The package does not include the paint or glue needed for assembly.
