The Ya-12 was a Soviet light tracked tractor developed during World War II for use by Red Army artillery and logistics units. The design was based on a civilian tractor with a cab on a T-60 light tank chassis. Its simple design and reliability made it ideal for hauling anti-tank and light guns as well as transporting material in difficult terrain.
Late production series featured design simplifications that allowed for faster production and easier maintenance in field conditions. The Ya-12 tractors were widely deployed on the Eastern Front from 1943 and continued in service after the end of the war.
