The T-55 Mod. 1963 was an improved version of the original T-55 tank, introduced into the armament of the Soviet Union and its allies during the first half of the 1960s. This variant featured, among other things, a new DShK anti-aircraft machine gun, minor modifications to the turret and improved crew protection. The T-55 was one of the most widely used battle tanks of the Cold War and intervened in numerous conflicts around the world.
