The SU-76M was the most widely used Soviet self-propelled gun of World War II, built on the chassis of the T-70 light tank. Armed with a 76mm ZiS-3 gun, it served as fire support for infantry, but also in an anti-tank and reconnaissance role. Its simple design, open superstructure and light weight made it easy to operate and deploy in large numbers.
