Panhard 178B '47 mm Gun Late Turret' in 1/35 scale by Special Hobby captures the post-war modernization of the famous French armored car. Originally designed as a fast reconnaissance vehicle, the Panhard 178 was used by both the French Army and the German Wehrmacht in WWII. After the war, the Type 178B was fitted with a new turret with a more powerful 47mm SA 35 gun, reinforced armour and other modifications to increase its combat value.
The French Army deployed this model both in domestic service and in a number of colonial conflicts, notably in Indochina and North Africa, where it was used for patrolling and counterinsurgency. Despite its age, it has retained the ability to operate effectively in a variety of conditions thanks to modernisation.
