The AEC Armoured Car Mk III was the latest and most powerful version of the British armoured car produced by the Associated Equipment Company (AEC). Unlike the light reconnaissance vehicles, the Mk III variant was equipped with a 75mm gun, making it a powerful machine capable of facing even lightly armoured targets. The vehicle had heavy armour and was designed for infantry support, reconnaissance operations and communications security.
This type was deployed in 1944 and participated in combat in Western Europe, where it was used by units of both the British and Polish armies. The combination of firepower and mobility earned the AEC Mk III respect among tank crews.
