1/32 Harvard II

The North American Harvard II was one of the most widely used trainer aircraft, having been developed from the original North American T-6 Texan. The aircraft was designed for advanced pilot training, particularly for the Allied air forces during World War II and in the decades that followed. The British and Canadian Royal Air Forces used the Harvard as their primary advanced trainer, preparing pilots for transition to fighter aircraft such as the Spitfire or Hurricane.

The Harvard II was equipped with a nine-cylinder Pratt & Whitney R-1340 Wasp radial engine of approximately 600 horsepower, which allowed it to reach a top speed of around 330 km/h (330 mph). Its rugged construction, simple handling and ability to simulate the characteristics of combat aircraft made it one of the most important trainer aircraft of its time. After the war, it continued in service in many countries around the world, including Canada, Great Britain, South Africa and France.
