Fiat G.50-II Freccia "Finnish Aces" in 1/32 scale by Special Hobby depicts the Italian fighter aircraft that earned a great reputation in the hands of Finnish pilots during WWII. The Fiat G.50 was the first modern Italian single-plane fighter with retractable landing gear, but in Italian service it struggled with limited armament and an inconvenient open cockpit.
Finland purchased 35 of these fighters before the Winter War and used them in combat against the Soviet Air Force. Although the G.50 was not as powerful as some Soviet machines, in the hands of experienced Finnish pilots who benefited from its agility and reliability, it proved to be an effective weapon. During the Continuation War (1941-1944), the Finnish Air Force continued to use the G.50, with some pilots achieving ace status in the type.
The 1/32 scale model offers detailed engine, cockpit and landing gear detailing, thus faithfully matching the aircraft of the Finnish Air Force. A great choice for modelers interested in the lesser known but successful WWII aircraft.
Package does not include paint or glue needed for assembly.
