1/32 B-17G Flying Fortress - Late Production

B-17G Flying Fortress - Early Limited Edition "Rose of York" in 1/32 scale by HK Models captures an early version of one of the most famous bombers of WWII. The Boeing B-17G was the backbone of the American strategic bombing campaign in Europe and was primarily used for long-range raids against German industrial and military targets.

This special edition is dedicated to the "Rose of York" aircraft , which was ceremonially named on 6 July 1944 at RAF Thurleigh in honour of Princess Elizabeth (later Queen Elizabeth II). This act was a symbol of the British-American alliance at the height of the war.

The B-17G version brought significant improvements over previous variants, including reinforced armament that included up to 13 12.7 mm Browning M2 machine guns, protecting the aircraft from German fighter attacks. Its durability and ability to continue flying after heavy damage earned the B-17 the nickname "The Flying Fortress".

This 1/32 scale model delivers a high level of detail and precision craftsmanship:

  • Fully equipped cockpit with realistic controls
  • Authentically rendered bomb bay with the ability to open
  • Four detailed Wright R-1820 Cyclone engines
  • Complete defensive armament with movable machine gun turrets
  • Realistic surface paneling and fuselage structure consistent with early B-17G
  • Limited "Rose of York" livery, historically significant within the Allied Air Forces

The detailed design and historical value make this model an ideal choice for modelers with an interest in American bombers and significant WWII moments.

The package does not include the paint or glue needed for assembly.
