AH-1G Cobra 'Marines/US Navy' Hi-Tech 1/32 scale by Special Hobby depicts the first combat helicopter designed for deployment by the US Marine Corps (USMC) and US Navy (USN) during the Vietnam War. Originally developed as an attack variant for the U.S. Army, the AH-1G Cobra was also adapted for use by the Marine Corps, where it provided critical fire support for operations in the coastal and riverine areas of Southeast Asia.
USMC and USN Cobras participated in missions against North Vietnamese forces and the Viet Cong, operating from land bases and from the decks of landing craft. They were armed with the M134 Minigun rotary machine gun, M197 cannon, and Hydra 70 rocket submunitions, allowing them to effectively engage enemy targets in the jungle and on open battlefields.
