1/144 RF-101A Voodoo
The 1/144 scale model RF-101A Voodoo by Valom is a reconnaissance variant of the supersonic fighter aircraft used by the US Air Force during the Cold War. The aircraft was used for rapid reconnaissance missions over enemy territory, particularly during the Caribbean crisis and the Vietnam War. The kit includes detailed plastic parts, a realistic cockpit and decals for historically significant units. Package does not include paint or glue needed for assembly.
The McDonnell RF-101A Voodoo was a reconnaissance version of the F-101 Voodoo fighter, which was designed as a long-range escort fighter for strategic bombers. After a redesign, it was adapted for reconnaissance operations, where its high speed and ability to fly at high altitudes allowed it to conduct missions deep over enemy territory.
The RF-101A was used by the US Air Force during the Cold War and played an important role, for example, during the Cuban Missile Crisis in 1962 and in Vietnam, where it conducted reconnaissance missions prior to bombing raids. Thanks to its powerful Pratt & Whitney J57 engines, the RF-101A could reach speeds of over 1,600 km/h (1,000 mph), which enabled it to evade most air defences of the time.
The Valom 1/144 RF-101A Voodoo kit features precision crafted plastic parts with fine panel line engraving, a detailed cockpit and authentic decals for several historical versions.
The high level of detail and compact scale make this model ideal for modelers interested in Cold War USAF jets and reconnaissance machines.
The package does not include the paint or glue needed for assembly.
